“We operate purpose built short term tourist accommodation at www.donegalthatchcottages.com. We use Stripe.com to process secure online payments. We were finding that filing VAT returns and preparing the Cash Book for our accountant, were proving increasingly time consuming. A friend recommended Sligo Data Solutions to us and we met Cathal by arrangement. He asked us to outline briefly the various processes that we went through in operating our business. Among other things, we explained that for the Cash Book we were manually entering the date of the transaction, the name of the client, the gross amount paid, the commission paid to Stripe and the net amount received by us. Cathal was able to write a script that automatically extracts all of this information from Stripe, and make it available, at the click of a button, in an Excel spreadsheet, all under the correct headings !!
